Photovoltaic: Gse launches the platform for self-consumption

“Who does it for himself does it for three” explains the well-known saying which in this case is aimed at individual users, businesses and the public administration. The theme? Generate energy autonomously to satisfy one's own needs.

Well, anyone intending to install a photovoltaic system now has a potential new ally. This is the new platform of Gse, the Energy Services Manager, to spread self-consumption in Italy which is operational and available to all potential users: individuals, businesses and the public administration.

In an Italy and a Europe on the move towards the achievement of the objectives set by the energy transition, the platform conceived by Gse interests Italians firsthand: "Without involving citizens, businesses and public administration with concrete actions and a radical change of culture , the sustainability goals that Europe and Italy have set for 2030 will never be achieved. For this reason, the self-consumption portal wants to be a tool available to all those who want to feel an integral part of the path towards the Green New Deal ”, explained the managing director of GseRobert Moneta.

NEW PLATFORM TO FACILITATE SELF-PRODUCTION

Through the platform, anyone who wants to start autonomous production by installing photovoltaic panels is able to obtain all the necessary information and data, as well as carry out simulations on the right sizing of the system and on the relative investment cost, also offering different financial solutions, as the company's official note explains. By entering the address of the building, the roof surface and the annual electricity consumption, the user can test the necessary sizing of the system, both in terms of power and the surface involved, the cost of installation, time necessary to recover the expense and how to take advantage of tax benefits foreseen. The platform still shows the existence of similar systems already installed nearby, the analysis of the mapping of the areas occupied by industrial or commercial buildings, so the user can evaluate the advantages and disadvantages deriving from the installation of new photovoltaic systems.

The new portal was presented to industry associations, installers, producers and consumers on 26 September and they were directly involved in the first testing phase: they had a month to browse, test and send their own evaluation on the platform, expressing a vote from 1 to 5 for every single question you ask them. The feedback received has been positive. The test consisted of 20 questions that were used to investigate the degree of reliability and effectiveness of the portal, measuring the users' overall opinion on certain aspects such as ease of navigation, clarity and completeness of the contents, the usefulness of the examples proposed and the usability of the available functions.
