Finmeccanica, with its subsidiary AgustaWestland, has signed a contract for the sale of 10 AW189 commercial helicopters to RN-Aircraft, a company owned by the Russian Rosneft. The contract, explains a note, is worth around 160 million euros.
The order stems from the framework agreement signed in December 2014 with the oil operator; it is also expected that, with the involvement of Russian Helicopters (Rostec group), Rosneft will acquire further helicopters by 2025 up to a total of 160 units.
On the occasion of the signing of the order, the note continues, an agreement was also signed which envisages a progressive reorganization of the HeliVert joint venture, now held equally between Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland and the helicopter company Russian Helicopters, with the future entry of Rosneft with a share equal to 30%. Consequently, HeliVert will be 40% owned by Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland, 30% by Russian Helicopters and 30% by Rosneft.
