Ferrero International closes 2014 with more than doubled profits and guarantees its shareholders a record coupon. For the Luxembourg holding company of the Alba-based multinational, last year's financial year, which ended in August, saw profits rise to 827 million euros, from 357,5 million in 2013.
In the light of this result, the shareholders' meeting of last December 16 approved a total coupon of 800 million, as shown by the documents deposited yesterday in the Grand Duchy. In 2013 Ferrero International had paid the partners – i.e. the founding family of the group – with 400 million euros.
The surge in profits came thanks to the dividends that the holding company collected from its subsidiaries, which grew from 428,5 to a good 924 million euros. Thanks above all to the Ferrero Middle and Eastern Europe Group Gmbh.
Ferrero International has 34 subsidiaries scattered throughout the world, from Italy to Australia, via Latin America, Japan, India and China. The holding's assets at the end of August amounted to 5,12 billion euros, up from 4,35 billion in 2013. The revenue received by the subsidiaries of the group that produces Nutella, Rocher, Tic Tac and Kinder rose to 1,01 billion from 513 million the previous year.
