Enel: only in 2017 will demand return to pre-crisis levels

The drop in demand for electricity and gas "is now structural" and the forecast is "of a return to pre-crisis levels only starting from 2017". Fulvio Conti, CEO of Enel, said so when speaking to the shareholders' meeting.

The Robin Tax had an impact on the Enel group's net profit of around 500 million a year, "which will settle at around 200 million from 2014 onwards". Conti stressed that Enel expects the amount to drop, adding that "even this new government is working in this direction".

The Enel share "still suffers from the continuing uncertainty" of the macroeconomic scenario: the electricity group, in fact, "continues to achieve solid operating results that are less appreciated than other international competitors due to their dependence on countries considered, up to now, to be more high risk” said the CEO.
