Enel: confirmed global leadership in sustainability

Enel reaffirms its position in the FTSE4Good index series and in the Euronext Vigeo-Eiris indices. Endesa, Enel Américas and Enel Chile were also included in the FTSE4Good index series.

Enel: confirmed global leadership in sustainability

Enel has been confirmed in the index series FTSE4Good, which selects the most important global companies by assessing their transparency and environmental, social and governance practices, following the first half-yearly review of 2019. The Group also positively passes the half-yearly assessment of the index Euronext Vigeo-Eiris World 120.

Twice a year, the index Euronext Vigeo-Eiris World 120 selects the 120 most sustainable companies from the top 1.500 companies by market capitalization across North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Enel also sees its presence confirmed in the regional Euronext Vigeo indices – Eurozone 120 ed Europe 120, which select, respectively, the 120 most sustainable companies out of the top 500 companies in the euro area and in Europe.

Enel was finally confirmed in the'Integrated Governance Index (IGI), the first Italian observatory that evaluates the ability of companies to integrate sustainability into their corporate strategies. Specifically, Enel is in first place in the implementation of responsible management of people.

The leadership in sustainability also extends to the other listed companies of the Enel Group, including the Spanish subsidiary Endesa, which sees its inclusion in the FTSE4Good index and in all three Vigeo-Eiris indexes confirmed.

Enel Américas and Enel Chile, Enel's subsidiaries operating in Latin America, have been confirmed in the FTSE4Good index.

Enel's leadership in sustainability, attested by these ratios, is increasingly attracting the attention of ESG investors, whose investments in the company are constantly growing and represent over 10,5% of the Group's share capital as at December 31, 2018, with an increase of 78% compared to 2015. This increase reflects the growing importance attributed by the financial market to non-financial elements in the creation of long-term sustainable value.
