Sunny day on the Stock Exchange for the Atlantia stock, which gained more than three percentage points in the mid-morning, achieving one of the best increases in the entire Ftse Mib.
The purchases were triggered by the numbers on highway traffic released this morning. From the preliminary data relating to the network under concession to Autostrade per l'Italia, the main concessionaire of the Atlantia group, it emerges that in the two-month period July-August 2013 traffic fell by 0,9% on an annual basis.
"The performance in Italy in the summer months reinforces the signs of improvement compared to last year and the first few months of 2013", commented the CEO of Atlantia, Giovanni Castellucci, on the occasion of the Italian Infrastructure Day organized by Borsa Italiana in Milan.
Overall, in the first eight months of 2013 traffic on the Autostrade per l'Italia network decreased by 2,2% compared to the same period of 2012, while in the first half of 2013 the decline was 2,8 %.
