Terna and Standford University together to accelerate the energy transition

Terna is the first Italian company to participate in the "Stanford Energy Corporate Affiliates" (SECA) program, which also includes the Bits&Watts initiative, promoted by the "Precourt Institute for Energy", the department ofStanford University for research, education and awareness on energy issues.

In detail, the new partnership aims to join forces to analyze the main challenges related to the world of energy and identify innovative solutions to encourage the evolution of electrical sector and accelerate the transition to an “affordable, low carbon energy system”.

Terna-Stanford University partnership

Based on the new five-year agreement with the US university, the operator of the national electricity grid will participate in theAdvisory Council of the initiative and “could contribute to the definition of the strategic guidelines and the planning of the program activities”. Furthermore, it will benefit from participation in workshops and numerous sector events, organized by the Californian department which will also ensure a moment of discussion between all the stakeholders involved in the research projects.

Finally, some young employees of the group will be able to participate in the realization of specific studies and research projects, on topics of interest to the company, as part of the "Visiting Scholarships".
