Wednesday 26 January will leave the February 2022 pension payments. This was announced by Poste Italiane, publishing the usual calendar valid for those who have to collect their pension in cash at the counters.
As has been happening for two years now due to the pandemic, the company led by Matteo Del Fante will pay the amount due in advance of the scheduled dates, in order to spread payments over several days and avoid queues at post offices which could put jeopardize the safety of workers and retirees.
Pensions February 2022: when payments start
The February 2022 pension will be paid from Wednesday 26 January. Holders of BancoPosta, Libretto di Risparmio or Postepay Evolution accounts will be the first to receive the amount due, which will be credited directly to their account.
Card holders Postamat, Libretto Card or Postepay Evolution therefore, all they have to do is go to the nearest Postamat ATM – there are over 7.000 ATM points scattered throughout Italy – and withdraw their pension in cash. A new service has been available for a few months which allows you to make withdrawals even through the smartphone, without using the card.
Pensions: the February 2022 payment calendar
Retirees who receive their pension in cash and have to go and collect it at one of the Italian Post offices will have to comply with different rules. For them the company has established a payment schedule. The shift depends on the first letter of your surname:
- surnames from A to B: Wednesday 26 January;
- surnames from C to D: Thursday 27 January;
- surnames from E to K: Friday 28 January;
- surnames from L to O: Saturday 29 January (morning);
- surnames from P to R: Monday 31 January;
- surnames from S to Z: Tuesday 1 February.
You need the green pass to collect your pension
From February 1, the basic green pass will be needed to collect your pension at the counters. The novelty is the result of a mix of rules approved in recent weeks by the Government. The first establishes the vaccination obligation for citizens aged 50 or over. The second, contained in the latest Dpcm approved on 21 January by the council of ministers, establishes the obligation of the green pass to enter many types of shops and participate in various activities. In detail, the rules that will come into force next Tuesday provide for the obligation to basic green certification, that is to say the one obtainable with a negative molecular or antigenic swab, for go to the bank or post office. In fact, the measure that considered "essential and primary needs" those "indifferent and urgent connected to the collection, at the branches of Poste Italiane Spa and of authorized credit institutions, of pensions or emoluments however denominated not subject to the obligation to credit" has been skipped ".
We also remind you that, according to the anti-Covid regulations, it is mandatory: to wear a mask, enter the office only when the previous customer leaves, respect the distance of at least one meter both outside and in the rooms open to the public.
The proxies
Retirees over 75 who receive their pension in cash at post offices can delegate third parties to collect. In the event that they have not already delegated other subjects, it is possible to ask to receive the sums in money free of charge at your home, delegating the Carabinieri to withdraw. “The service cannot be rendered to those who have already delegated other subjects to collect, have a passbook or postal account or who live with family members or in any case these are residing in the vicinity of their home”, underlines Poste.
