What to do
InfoCamere has set up on the portal of the Italian Chambers of Commerce https://ipec-registroimprese.infocamere.it/ipec the "Simple Practice" service which allows business owners with a digital signature device to complete the registration of their certified e-mail box in the Business Register in a few minutes. The service, simple and fast, does not require registration and is totally free.
The PEC mailbox can be purchased online by contacting one of the authorized Managers (public list available at the address www.digitpa.gov.it) and must then be registered in the Company Register.
What is the PEC for?
The PEC is an e-mail system that creates a real "electronic" registered office of the company, accessible by anyone and which allows messages to be exchanged with maximum security and with the same legal value as a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.
Just think: no more frantic search for paper return receipts without which it was not possible to demonstrate the certified sending of relevant documentation on a certain date and to rely on it in any assessment, but an electronic sending system with the same characteristics and archiving automatic easy retrieval of sent documents.
In Italy as a whole (companies, public administration and professionals), there are currently over 5 million certified e-mail boxes and circulate around 91 million messages every year. There are over 9 million companies that have a certified e-mail as of 2 June; only 15% of sole proprietorships active in Italy have an electronic address.
Companies that have a certified mailbox use it above all to dialogue with the Chambers of Commerce and with the most active administrations on the digitization front, such as Inps, Inail, and the Revenue Agency and various Local Authorities.
The adoption of the PEC offers the company the possibility of replacing paper in many processes, guaranteeing greater speed in exchanges, efficiency in management and conservation/archiving with a consequent reduction in costs
