The most appropriate thing for the Municipality of Rome to do 200 days before the start of Jubilee is to supervise construction sites and the sustainability of the city. It is an extraordinary event and there are certainly many rules to respect. Work organization is at the forefront and smart working, for example, should be taken into consideration to decongest the city. CGIL and UIL presented ten points to the municipal administration so that we can all come together to handle the influx of millions of pilgrims and tourists. Rome will suffer for these presences, but the work must now take place in a controlled manner and with limited inconvenience. A hope? We say yes, because those who live in Rome feel the inconveniences, despite the reassurances of the bodies that awarded the contracts.
Jubilee Rome, security and surveillance
Workplace safety is not a taboo in the capital. The numbers tell us that in the first five months of this year they were reported 13.643 accidents at work. Not all of them are related to the Jubilee works but they are still a tough figure: 2.178 injuries reported every month. The two unions presented the proposals starting from the main one which is "zero accidents at work during the Jubilee works". This after tragic weeks due to negligence and indecent responsibilities of employers. It is clear that we cannot let it slide, and in this case the mayor Roberto Gualtieri cannot fail the main mission of its management. She spoke about it recently with Pope Francesco and contacts between the Municipality and the Vatican are constant. A meeting has been called in the Municipality for 9 July on the topics proposed by CGIL and UIL and we will see how much substance will be put into place.
There are 200 days left until the Jubilee and we are convinced that it must be an opportunity for relaunch, also to address problems that concern the world of work in Lazio and Rome, the unions said. The Rome model of the works of the Jubilee must be extended to all the works that will be carried out in the Capital with the Pnrr funds and ordinary funds. How many companies are involved today? Jubilee Rome, the context and the left of government

Not just the unions, everyone expects one good evidence of local government in the city that will become the mirror of the country. The right has obviously already prepared the propaganda ammunition for a probable rematch. The topic is as demanding as the vigilance on real life which in the national vision must register the attention of the left to the government of a large city. The ten union proposals, after all, are the indicator of social apprehension but in a broader way they are above all the incentive to give meaning to major events.
