Firstonline.info, the internet journal of business and finance, founded by Franco Locatelli ed Ernesto Auci, which was launched on 23 last May, closed the balance sheet for its first year – of only seven months of 2011 – with a net profit of approximately 4.100 Euros, after paying approx 8.800 Euros of taxes between IRAP and IRES. The initiative, which was characterized by the careful selection of news and the qualified comments of experts on the main issues of economic policy and finance, obtained immediate appreciation from the public of the network as evidenced by the constant growth of pages views arrived at a monthly average of approx 400.000 accesses, with daily peaks in moments of greater tension on the markets or of particular interest in the recovery decrees adopted by the Government, of over 30.000.

The publishing company of Firstonline, AL Editorial Initiatives, has a capital of 199.000 Euros as well as a non-interest bearing loan from the shareholders of 48.000 Euros, and has turnover in the first seven months of activity just under 400 thousand Euros between subscriptions and advertising revenue. A little more than 200 thousand Euros went to collaborators, including social security contributions, while among the other expenses, those relating to thetechnical setting of the site and those relating to transmission.

Having overcome the most difficult start-up phase, the company is now preparing to launch a new phase of expansion by focusing on enhancement of information content and the strengthening of distribution channels, being able to count, among other things, on its financial solidity which has no debts but which can make use of a decent liquidity, which it is expected to be able to increase in the wake of the good expansion that advertising is registering on the online market contrary to what is happening in the press and on television.
