Finmeccanica: launch of the new organizational model, the share goes up on the Stock Exchange

Green light for the project of a new Finmeccanica organizational and operational model for the aerospace, defense and security sector. In the wake of the news, the company's stock gained about one and a half percentage points at the opening this morning in Piazza Affari, achieving one of the best increases in the Ftse Mib.

The go-ahead came from the Board of Directors, which met under the chairmanship of Gianni De Gennaro. The goal is to provide effective responses to the challenges posed by the transformation of international scenarios, characterized by the reduction of budgets in domestic markets, the progressive depletion of government-financed programs and the increase in competitiveness requirements.

The reorganization, which will affect both the group structure and that of the operating companies, will be implemented in close collaboration with the managing directors of the companies involved, with the progressive adoption of the necessary organizational measures.

The actions envisaged for its implementation, the official press release specifies, are: the attribution to Finmeccanica of a new role of guidance and strategic control of the companies involved, to achieve greater effectiveness in the industrial activity and in the management of the product portfolio of the individual businesses ; coordinated management, between the parent company and the operating companies, of activities related to the product, markets, order execution and service in the areas of helicopters, aeronautics, defense and security electronics and defense systems; the verticalisation of support functions which guarantees the harmonization of procedures, the strengthening of governance and the Group's identity.

The companies in the transport sector destined to be deconsolidated, the international joint ventures in the space and defense sector, the subsidiary DRS Technologies and Fata, for which the direct responsibility of the corporate will remain excluded from the plan.
