Car sharing Milan: Leasys electric cars arrive

After Turin, the city of Fiat, the ecological car sharing of Leasys (Stellantis brand and subsidiary of FCA Bank) lands in Milan, the city of shared mobility. The official launch is expected in the coming weeks but the news is already there: LeasysGO! will reach the Lombard capital with its fleet 400 cars of the New 500 electric model, ready to be rented. A new player is therefore arriving on the already rich Milanese car sharing market, but the novelty is that the environmental impact will be very limited, given that the Fiat-branded cars used in Turin, with a fleet of over 300 cars, have avoided emissions equal to 9 tons (9.000 kg) on a monthly basis.

The New 500 electric cars soon available in Milan they will be free floating, can therefore be used by customers within the coverage area without any limitations and parking constraints. For recharging (which will be free and entirely managed by the LeasysGO team!), the extensive network of public electricity columns in the city will be used, to which will be added 3 Leasys recharging hubs dedicated precisely to its fleet: "500 recharging points are already present - Marco Granelli said in this regard, councilor for Mobility of the Municipality of Milan - and another 230 points in the process of being approved and implemented. Furthermore, progressively, and at the latest by 2023, as established by the Regulation for the air, all fuel points of sale will have to be equipped with recharging infrastructures".

“Environmental sustainability represents one of the main challenges for the future of our sector, which has one of the key elements in electric mobility, especially in a city like Milan, which has always been at the forefront and at the forefront on this front. For this reason we are proud to offer a service like LeasysGO!, and grateful to the Municipality of Milan for the precious support” he commented Giacomo Carelli, CEO of FCA Bank and Chairman of Leasys. For the company from the Stellantis galaxy, this is an important milestone, since Milan is the capital of car sharing in Italy: throughout the country, according to data updated at the end of 2019, free floating vehicles exceeded 7.000 units, of which nearly 1.600 are electric cars. There were over 12 million rentals, over half of which in Milan alone, where over 3.000 vehicles are made available. Rome is second with 2.300, followed by Turin with 1.100.
