The European Commission will evaluate "the legal opportunities to offer state aid that could definitely help small and medium-sized enterprises" affected by the earthquake in Emilia-Romagna. It was said by the European Commissioner for Regional Policies, Johannes Hahn, today in Trieste.
“The European Union Solidarity Fund – added the Commissioner – will be able to guarantee resources for 2,5% of the damages caused by the earthquake in Emilia”.
