Bcc reform: hearings in the Chamber are underway

First Consob, then Bankitalia, Abi, Federcasse and trade unions. Hearings on the bank decree which also includes the reform of the CCBs begin on Thursday - Probable changes to the text with a majority amendment.

Having closed the chapter of the preliminary rulings of the opposition, rejected by the Chamber with a large majority, the bank decree continues its process. The hearings will open tomorrow: first Consob, then Bankitalia, Abi, Federcasse and banking unions.

The main topic will be the reform of cooperative credit banks. According to the latest rumors, the provision could undergo important corrections to be included in a majority amendment. The first change could concern the "rescue" of a regulation that guarantees the territorial specificity of the Raiffeisen rural bank system (South Tyrol) following the guidelines contained in the self-reform elaborated by the CBs themselves.

Another possible change should concern the minimum threshold for holding companies currently set at around one billion euros. Some responses also expect sui questions related to the way out and the derogation on the basis of which the CCBs with net assets exceeding 200 million euros will have the possibility of becoming a joint-stock company thanks to the payment of 20 percent of the indivisible reserve to state coffers.
