Psa-Peugeot Citroen, record losses: -5 billion euros

Psa Peugeot Citroen continues in its strongly negative moment: the French car manufacturer marked record losses last year, with a red of 5 billion euros, the worst result in its history. Peugeot explained the disappointing performance with dependence on European markets, hit by a serious crisis, and the write-down of assets for 4,7 billion.

Turnover fell by 5,2% to 55,4 billion and the operating result was negative for 1,09 billion. A return to operating liquidity is expected at the end of 2014 after the French manufacturer 'burned' 3 billion last year. CFO Jean-Baptiste de Chatillon also said the Faurecia (components) division, in which Peugeot owns 57,4%, 'is not for sale'.
