Lega: Bossi sentenced to 2 years and 3 months

Umberto Bossi, his son Renzo and the treasurer of the League, Francesco Belsito, were convicted in the first instance by judge Maria Luisa Balzarotti for embezzlement of party money. Two years and three months for Bossi, one year and six months for his son and two years and six months for Belsito. 

The former number one of the Carroccio, his son (for which the sentence is suspended) and Belsito were also sentenced by the Court of Milan to pay a fine of 800 euros, 500 euros and 900 euros respectively. 

Between 2009 and 2001 Bossi would have spent more than 208 thousand euros for family expenses, Belsito would have appropriated about half a million euros, while Renzo Bossi, including fines, insurance and an Audi A6, was charged more than 145 thousand euros.
