Inter: Turin beaten, Lazio hooked

Inter engages Lazio. The nerazzurri, thanks to victory over Turin, they thus pass in one fell swoop from fourth to second place, albeit in cohabitation with the biancocelesti (but ahead on goal difference). A nice coup, it must be said, especially after a week full of controversies (above all the one relating to Conte's discontent towards the club) and, above all, a creepy start, which had made us think of another truly difficult. In fact, Longo's Toro had taken the lead after just 17 'with Belotti, even if the goal should be attributed, despite himself, to Handanovic: his faulty grip allowed Gallo to make the easiest of tap-ins.

Under San Siro and betrayed by one of his greatest certainties, moreover on the evening when Lukaku was missing: for Conte it was in very bad shape, also because the chosen formation, in the event of a defeat, would have raised quite a fuss. Eriksen's second consecutive bench, in fact, certified how the Dane, from a valuable piece of the market, had almost become a problem, with the coach who preferred him (as in Verona) Borja Valero, 35 years old and contract expiring at the end of the season. But since, as we know, results count in football, the network of controversies fell apart at the beginning of the second half, when Inter found the one-two punch that knocked out Toro.

The protagonists are two unexpected elements such as Young and Godin, the first with a nice volley on an assist from Lautaro (48'), the second with a header after a bank from Sanchez (51'). In three minutes the Nerazzurri put things right and when Lautaro, thanks to Bremer's decisive deflection, sealed the 3-1 (60'), the ghosts of the third game without a win left San Siro, also because Immobile, five minutes later, printed the ball of the possible 3-2 on the crossbar. Perhaps everything would have reopened, perhaps nothing would have changed, in any case Inter, however several times close to scoring a fourth goal, concluded their Monday night without further worries, bringing home a very heavy victory, both for the standings and for morale.

“The three points are used to give certainties, especially to the players, and to repay you for the sacrifices of players and staff – commented Tale – Sorry, when they don't arrive, in the last period we have been punished by individual errors which penalized us extremely, but the road is the right one. The rumors about my future? I've been hired for a three-year project, then maybe the president will extend my contract... I'm happy with the project and with these guys, but I don't want to be too much: if people are happy with me, I don't see why we can't go go on, otherwise I will not stay in spite of the saints.”

Strong words, in contrast with those of Marotta in the pre-match (“we are satisfied with Conte, there is no change in sight”), testifying to a diversity of views, on the market and on the players currently in the squad, still to be ironed out. In any case, Inter took second place, even if this, however, may not last long: tonight, in fact, it's already time for matchday thirty-third. with Atalanta of Gasperini, fourth but only one point away, engaged in Lombard derby against Brescia penultimate (21.45). On paper there shouldn't be a game, but woe to take something for granted in this crazy summer tournament: the examples, in this sense, continue to flock round after round...
