La The MPS Foundation adopts a new statute. The regulation of the Sienese bank's main shareholder aims to reduce the weight of local authorities in the appointment of administrative bodies and came into force after the green light from the Treasury, which arrived yesterday.
The communiqué released by the Foundation speaks of a "strongly innovative and in some respects revolutionary text". Once the Deputazione Generale (from 16 to 14 members) and the Deputazione Amministratrice (from 6 to 4) were streamlined, the new statute redesigned the map of designating bodies, significantly reducing, as mentioned, the quantity of appointments in the hands of the Municipality and Province.
Among the prerogatives of the new regulation also the cutting of directors' costs and more stringent requirements regarding the incompatibility with other offices, with the provision of time windows of at least one year from their termination.
