Financial Times: Bocconi is the eighth best school in Europe

In the wake of the excellent placements in the various specialist rankings published by Financial Times during 2013 Bocconi concluded the year placing 8th among the best European schools, in the ranking of the rankings of the British newspaper. Bocconi, the only Italian university in the top 30 of the ranking, reaches this position by gaining three positions compared to last year, overtaking the IMD of Lausanne, the Rotterdam School of Management and Escp Europe.

The result was possible thanks to the results obtained by the Bocconi and SDA Bocconi programs in the last 12 months which have all gained positions in their respective rankings, such as Bocconi's Master of Science in International Management which has risen to 16th place in Europe. SDA Bocconi's MBA earned 14th place in Europe in its ranking and the executive MBA took 28th place, while the business school took 10th place in Europe in the executive education ranking. Not included in the rankings calculation, the Master of science in Finance also gained positions, reaching the 20th place in the world.

"The positioning of our University in the group of the top ten in Europe, ahead of highly prestigious universities and business schools, not only rewards all the efforts made over the years but above all recognizes the quality and solidity of the entire Bocconi offer and of SDA Bocconi, qualifying it as one of the key players at an international level”, he comments Stephen Caselli, pro-rector for internationalization of the university in via Sarfatti.

“The result concludes a positive 2013 of recognitions which saw SDA Bocconi improve in all rankings and once again confirm itself as the only Italian school present in all the most important international rankings. We are really proud of these results, which international recruiters are increasingly appreciating as well”, he comments Bruno Busacca, Dean of SDA Bocconi.

In October, for example, the school placed 3rd in the ranking of the best international MBA programs (excluding the US ones) byForbes and 14th in Europe in the ranking of the best MBA's The Economist,. In the World University Ranking by faculty, Bocconi instead climbed 17 steps, positioning itself 29th in the world and 9th in Europe for social sciences and management, and in the general ranking on the reputation of graduates among recruiters it is 19th in the world. Also in the World University Ranking, it was placed 17th in the ranking of the best universities for economics (5th in Europe) and 21st for finance and accounting (4th in Europe).
