Stock market, Mps collapses again after judicial news

Another slide in Piazza Affari for the Mps title, which in the middle of the morning travels in the red by more than five points, at 0,22 euros. The latest sell-off is mostly related to the judicial developments of the derivatives scandal. The shares only managed to price up more than half an hour after the start of trading.

Monte dei Paschi is clearly the worst of the bule chips and is positioned at the tail of the Ftse Mib, which in the same minutes recorded a drop of 1,22%. Exchanges on MPS securities are substantial: over 124 million units have already changed hands, for a turnover that corresponds to over 1% of the capital. The other bank stocks were also heavy, especially Unicrerdit, which lost more than three points.

This afternoon in Siena, the prosecutor's interrogation of the former president of Monte dei Paschi is expected, Joseph Mussari. But the news that opened the tap for sales on Italian banks is that the Prosecutor of Trani has opened an investigation into the use of derivatives by MontePaschi, Bnl (Bnp Paribas group), Credem, Intesa and Unicredit. The hypotheses of crime are usury and fraud.
