The Italian company has signed with Metro Rail Systems Navi Mumbai for a value equal to approximately 78 million euros: the complete system will consist of six lines (high-density rail corridors) covering a total distance of approximately 117 km .

Ansaldo Sts goes to India, where it is awarded a contract for the construction of the Navi Mumbai subway (new Mumbai, formerly new Bombay), a city of almost one million inhabitants south of the homonymous metropolis. The Italian company has signed a contract with Metro Rail Systems Navi Mumbai for a value equivalent to approximately 78 million euros.

The complete system will consist of six lines (high-density rail corridors) covering a total distance of approximately 117 km. The work in question relates to Line 1, Phase 1, which consists of 11,1 km of viaduct, with 11 stations, a depot and a fleet of 8 trains. Line 1 will then be completed in two further phases, involving a total of 12,3 km and 9 other stations.

The winning consortium is made up of Ansaldo Sts, a Finmeccanica company, which covers the role of Leader, together with Tata Projects and Csr Zhuzhou. The scope of work of the turnkey contract includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance, for three years, of the electromechanical systems. 

Ansaldo STS, as leader of the consortium, is responsible for the integration and supply of signaling and control systems (based on CBTC technology), telecommunications, automatic ticketing and equipment storage. Estimated duration of the construction phase: approximately two and a half years from the start of the works. 

Meanwhile flat morning on the stock exchange for both Ansaldo Sts for both Finmeccanica: both stocks are confirmed above the threshold of 7 euro per share, a result with almost no moves.
