“I am honored and excited by this first important step towards the presidency of the Turin Industrial Union, for us 'the Union. I thank the three wise men, Licia Mattioli, Gianfranco Carbonato, Dario Gallina for the precious work done, my colleagues for the trust they have shown in me, and the president Giorgio Marsiaj for what he has done and will do - he said Gay speaking to the general council -. Important economic and social challenges await us. I am certain that Turin companies will be an engine of growth, development and well-being, and an accelerator of opportunities, capable of continuing to compete and of creating and attracting new industrial and technological excellence – he added – we are a firm point in addressing the changes, because Turin is a melting pot of industry and knowledge capable of attracting talents who want to compete every day on a national and international level. My main commitment will be to involve our associates in this project, together with a strong and capable team."

In closing one's experience, Marsiaj wanted to draw a brief assessment of these years: "I conclude my mandate with the satisfaction of having served the city's entrepreneurial system without reservations in one of the most delicate phases of the country's recent economic history, which has put the resilience of our companies. Unione Industriali Torino has always been at their side and together we have crossed a treacherous ford. But we came out of it with determination, facing the challenges of the great global changes underway with the awareness of having what it takes to consolidate Turin's role as a leading manufacturing and technological hub in Europe. I leave a solid, authoritative Turin Industrial Union that has grown in the number of members, thanks also to a first-rate structure, to which I express my gratitude for the precious work carried out alongside me", explained the now former president of the Turin industrialists.
