Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda: which models are involved in the Dieselgate

Lo Dieselgate scandal did raise a fuss about the credibility of the Volkswagen brand which in recent years has rigged the data on the emissions of a part of the cars sold all over the world. What the owners of a car in the Volkswagen galaxy are wondering today is whether their own is among the so-called "fixed cars". The cars that certainly have the offending software are Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda or Seat and have one of the following engines:

  • 4-cylinder diesel engine EA189 – 1600 displacement
  • 4-cylinder diesel engine EA189 – 2000 displacement
  • 3-cylinder diesel engine EA189 – 1200 displacement

The first two engines were installed in cars manufactured by Volkswagen Group plants between 2004 and 2012. The third engine was installed in vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2014. On other engine types, however, there is still uncertainty.
