Unicredit ko after the accounts, and the Stock Exchange remains down (-0,62%)

Unicredit returns to profit, but it is not enough for the Stock Exchange: in a few minutes the stock collapses in Piazza Affari by 1,7% (after being in positive territory up to +1,4%) after the publication of the expected data, according to which the Piazza Cordusio group closed 2012 with profits of 865 million, after the maxi loss of 9,2 billion in 2011 due to write-downs. The figure, released today after the green light from the Board, is however lower than the consensus estimates of analysts, which indicated a profit of 1,24 billion.

The collapse of Unicredit therefore still drags down Piazza Affari, which in mid-afternoon remains in negative territory: -0,7%, despite the excellent performances of two other banks (Bper +10% and Banco Popolare +3%), while losing ground were Mediobanca (-2%), UBI (-1,6%), Intesa Sanpaolo (-1,44%) and Mps (-0,8%).

On the other hand, the Btp-Bund spread remains stable at around 315 basis points, after it had risen above 320 in the morning but in the middle of the day, just before the publication of the Unicredit accounts, it had fallen to 306 basis points.
