In the last two years the business relations between Turin companies and their transalpine cousins ​​there is significant growth, despite the crisis linked to Covid first and then to the war: 4,64 billion euros at the end of 2021 and 1,37 billion euros in the first quarter of 2022. This is confirmed by the data of theIndustrial Union of Turin, released on the occasion of the Bastille Day in Paris on July 14, 1789.

“A new impetus to relations between the two countries was certainly given by the Quirinale Treaty, signed in Rome on 26 November, which strengthened the friendship between Italy and France and consolidated their bilateral cooperation in various fields, including commercial relations – he commented Giorgio Marsiaj, President of the Turin Industrial Union –. Companies from Turin and Piedmont have always had great exchanges with cousins ​​beyond the Alps, which have their roots in a centuries-old shared cultural tradition, with institutions of excellence such as, for example, the Lycée Jean Giono. The fact that, despite the pandemic and the war, exchanges are intensifying further demonstrates how solid and deep mutual trust is"

Turin-France: increases of 23,5% for imports and 16,4% for exports

In 2020 the cheap imports of Turin industries from France amounted to 1,63 billion euros, while the exports exceeded 2,26 billion. Despite the difficult pandemic context, the growth of commercial relations has not stopped, considering that in 2021 imports reached 2,01 billion (+23,5% compared to the previous year) and exports reached 2,63 .16,4 billion (+2022%). The trend is also confirmed by reading the data for the first quarter of 635,28, which sees a level of imports at 735,59 million and exports at 499,44 million euros, against – respectively – the 716,91 million euros and the 2021, XNUMX million euros in the first quarter of XNUMX.

Considering the overall total of imports from Turin's industries which at the end of 2021 amounted - worldwide - to 18,7 billion euros, the French market it is worth about 10,8%, while for exports, which are worth 20,62 billion euros, France represents 12,8%. These percentages increase to 2022% for imports in the first quarter of 11,4 (out of the total of 5,55 billion euros of global imports) and reach 12,8% for exports (compared to 5,88 billion of euros of trade worldwide).
