Ericsson e stmicroelectronics have reached an agreement on the future path forward for the St-Ericsson joint venture, selecting the strategic option that maximizes their future prospects and growth plans
Ericsson will take over the design, development and sales of the LTE thin and multimode modem, including 2G, 3G and 4G multimode.
On the other hand, Stm will be responsible for the other St-Ericsson products and the related business, as well as some assembly and testing plants. The closure process will begin for the remaining parts of ST-Ericsson.
At the opening this morning, the stock of Stm yields more than one and a half points to Piazza Affari.
