Scouting Group, through the company Scouting Capital Advisors SpA, supported CBC Group, with the company Cherry Bay Capital Srl, the private investment office of the group, in the execution together with a group of qualified investors of a club deal in favor of Tecnomatic SpA. The latter is an international leader in the design, development and industrialization of winding systems for stators dedicated to electric cars through the so-called hair pin, as well as more traditional alternators and generators for traditional transmission.
The operation involves a total investment of 17,5 million euros, part of which in the purchase of already issued shares, part in a capital increase with the subscription of a minority stake and part through the subscription of a convertible bond loan. The automotive electrification market (according to McKinsey the global electric vehicle market grew at a CAGR of 59% between 2014 and 2018 reaching 2 million vehicles sold and only the main OEMs will launch 400 new electric vehicles by 2023 ) provides for the adoption by the main car manufacturers of hairpin technology as a reference standard.
In this scenario, thanks to the leadership achieved by the company through continuous and substantial investments in research and development and the competitive advantage achieved also thanks to the significant patent assets, Tecnomatic places itself in a position of great competitive advantage. The investment in the club deal, intended to further increase investments in production capacity, will allow the Company to seize growth opportunities by surpassing the historical data already acquired which saw a production value of around 2018 million during the two-year period 2019 and 30 euros with an Ebitda Margin Adj higher than 20% and an excellent ability to generate cash.
With these premises, the investment aims to consolidate international leadership of the company by supporting the organic expansion through the construction of a new production plant and the growth through external lines through partially already identified acquisition operations.
