The CEO of Eni, Paolo Scaroni, has decided to replace the managers at the top of Saipem. The CEO of the plant engineering company, Pietro Franco Tali, will resign this afternoon during an ad hoc board meeting.
Il Sole 24 Ore writes it, explaining that the decision is linked to the Sonatrach scandal, the Algerian state oil company, which has already led to the resignation of the president of the group, Mohamed Meziane, and 15 executives, accused of corruption and embezzlement.
The Algerian press claims that several foreign companies, including Saipem, are allegedly involved in the investigation currently in the hands of the Sidi M'Hamed court in Algiers.
At the end of the morning, Eni's stock gained 0,44%, while Saipem shares were up 0,67%.
