$1,8 billion contract in the Caspian Sea for Saipem. The Eni subsidiary announced today the award of a new Engineering & Construction contract for the project Kashagan field, in the Kazakh waters of the Caspian Sea.
La North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) has awarded Saipem a contract for the construction of two pipelines95 kilometers each, which will connect Island D in the Caspian Sea to the Karabatan land-based facility in Kazakhstan.
The two pipelines, with a diameter of 28 inches, are made of carbon steel, covered internally with an anticorrosive alloy layer, and will each have an offshore section of approximately 65 kilometers out of the total 95. The construction will be completed by the end of 2016.
"This important contract sees us engaged with some of the world's largest oil companies in a region of great interest to Saipem," said theCEO of Saipem Umberto Vergine according to which the order "also represents another important contribution to our order book in this difficult market context".
