Saipem, banks recapitalize for 427 million

The oil plant engineering company announced that, to complete the operation, the guarantor institutions will have to intervene by subscribing 1,18 billion shares, for a total value of 427 million euros.

Expensive account for the banks of the guarantee consortium for the capital increase Saipem from 3,5 billion. In fact, the company announced that in order to complete the operation, the guarantor institutions will have to intervene by subscribing 1,18 billion shares for a total value of 427 million euros. On February 11th, the offer of shares in option to shareholders concluded with subscriptions equal to 87,8% of the total. The unexercised rights had been offered on the Stock Exchange, as usual, in the following days and the investors, on the second day of the offer, had bought all the 53,6 million shares which gave the right to subscribe for shares.

However, when it came to turning them into shares, this only happened for a very limited number of shares, equal to 22 securities. To complete the operation, the consortium banks which are Goldman Sachs and Jp Morgan as joint global coordinator and joint bookrunner; Banca Imi, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Mediobanca and UniCredit as joint bookrunners; Hsbc Bank, Bnp Paribas, Abn Amro and Dnb Markets as Co-Lead Managers.
