Prada continues to increase its sales. As of July 31, 2013, the Italian fashion house recorded consolidated revenues of 1.727 million euros, an increase of 11,6% compared to the 1.547 million euros of the first half of 2012.

The data is still preliminary; the complete results will be communicated after the approval of the board of directors, convened for September.

Going to examine the sales channels, Prada informs that sales in the directly managed stores reached 1.422 million euros, up by 15,6% (+19,5% at constant exchange rates), both thanks to the new openings and the growth of existing stores. The wholesale channel, on the other hand, recorded a drop of 3,5%, following the group's decision to reduce independent customers.

By geographical area, Asia Pacific saw an increase in sales of 17,7% (+18,6% at constant exchange rates), America of 13,5% (+16%), and Europe of 5,7, 6,7% (+2012%). Japan, due to the weakening of the yen compared to the same period of 16,4, appears to be against the trend; however, at constant exchange rates, growth was XNUMX%.

Finally, as regards the group's brands, Prada grew by 14,3% (+17,3% at constant exchange rates), Miu Miu by 3,7% (+7,8%), Church's by 5,1% (+8,3%). Car Shoe, on the other hand, reported a decline. During the semester, the group opened 30 new stores, bringing the total of direct stores to 491.

"We will continue to base our long-term growth strategy on a balanced international expansion of the retail network, on the efficiency of all processes and on the constant search for quality and stylistic innovation", commented the CEO of Prada spa, Patrizio Bertelli.
