America trusts the Stock Exchanges: Milan pink jersey in Europe

The encouraging news from American industry gives the Stock Exchanges a boost – Piazza Affari (+1,45%) is the best in Europe also thanks to the drop in the Btp-Bund spread to 274 bps – Saipem recovers sharply, earning 8% – Mediobanca rebounds, closing up 5,2% – Mps also does well – Mediaset is down.

The Stock Exchanges inaugurate the third quarter with a good rise, both in Europe and in the USA. In Milan, the Ftse/Mib index rose by 1,45%, closing at 15.459. The other lists also rose: London +1,49%, Paris +0,76%, Frankfurt +0,31% and Madrid +1,83%. In Europe, the Stoxx 50 index gains 0,7%. The best blue chip is Siemens (+2,7%). The German conglomerate sold 1,7% of the joint venture with Nokia active in the creation of telephone networks for 50 million euros. The buyer is Nokia itself, the title of the Finnish company rises by 7%.

The 10-year BTP showed little movement at 4,46% (-2 basis points) while the yield on the Bund fell to 1,75% (+2 basis points): the spread thus contracted by 8 basis points to 273. The optimism also rules on Wall Street. The American ISM is rising but not too much. The index that measures the purchasing intentions of business managers returns to 50,9, beyond the barrier that divides recession and expansion. But the recovery remains weak, averting the threat of a Qe cut. 

The Stock Exchange reacts with a robust rise: the Dow Jones index rises by 1,04%, the S&P500 by 1,16% and the Nasdaq by 1,34%. Apple rises by 1,6% and regains the psychological threshold of 400 dollars. Last week the stock lost 4,1% of its value and overall in the month of June it retreated by 10%. Vola Rcs Mediagroup +26,6% after Fiat +1,96% rose to 31% of the capital. 

In Piazza Affari, Prysmian is among the best blue chips +3,79%. The maker of power and telephone cables should be buoyed by expectations of a rebound in the copper price. Diasorin +3,16%. The diagnostic kit company has announced the launch of a new product. Saipem +8,09% tries to react to the -40% recorded in June, the worst in the history of the share. Despite today's rebound, Saipem still remains the worst blue chip since the start of 2013 with a 54% loss.

The day's record belongs to Maire Tecnimont: +44%. Italia Independent +3,5% upon confirmation of a sprint registration. The performance of Lapo Elkann's company (about 20% in two sessions) favors a new leap forward in luxury. Brunello Cucinelli soars up by 7%, new historic record. Since the beginning of 2013 Cucinelli has earned over 40%. In Paris Lvmh rises by 2,5%.

Also in evidence are Ferragamo +1.96%, Luxottica +2,81%, Tod's +2,03%, and Yoox +1%. Banks improved in the afternoon. Good increases for Pop.Milano +34,2%, Pop.Emilia +2,42% and MontePaschi +3,64%. Intesa gains 0,73%, Unicredit +1,1%. Great recovery of Mediobanca +5,2%. Generali gains 2,24%. Telecom Italia rises by 1,12%.
