The richest man in modern Italian history, Gianni Agnelli was more than just a majority shareholder of Fiat: he was a style icon and often credited with single-handedly influencing the fashion industry, both in Italy and internationally. 1974 Fiat 130 Family Estimate 170-300 thousand €
When the model was introduced as a replacement for the Fiat 2300 at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1969, Fiat could only have produced the 130 as a saloon or coupé, but the Agnelli family had a slightly different idea. In response to the family's desire for something equally luxurious but altogether more practical, The Fiat Style Centre designed the 130 Familiare, which was then built by Officina Introzzi, a body shop based just outside Como. Equipped with a 6cc V3.200 engine with three-speed automatic transmission, the Fiat 130 also boasted independent suspension on all four wheels, making the Familiare extremely comfortable for all journeys. The car was kept at Agnelli's home in St. Moritz and used by him during the winter months, with a roof rack and ski basket to carry his skis to and from the slopes. Being such a powerful and influential figure in Italy, Agnelli always attracted the attention of the paparazzi and was photographed with this car on several occasions. He obviously greatly valued his 130 Familiare, which he owned until 1985. Under its current owners, the car has been well-preserved and used as intended by the manufacturer, most notably at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 2014 and The Ice St. Moritz in 2022, where it received the Classic Driver Spirit of St. Moritz Award.
1986 Fiat Panda 4×4 Estimated €20-40k
Purchased new by Gianni Agnelli in February 1986, like his Fiat 130 Familiare, this Panda was used by Agnelli for winter trips to and around St. Moritz. The car remained in his ownership for fifteen years, being sold in 2001, just two years before his death. 1986 saw the introduction of the ‘Mk2’ version of the Panda, designated internally as the 141A. These are easily recognisable by their one-piece front side windows, and while the standard Panda gained independent rear suspension with coil springs, the 4×4 retained the proven leaf-spring/live rear axle layout, as well as the largest petrol engine available in the first-generation model, the 1.108 cc inline-four.
1985 Lancia Thema Familiare by Zagato Estimate 80-160 thousand €
Purchased by Gianni Agnelli, this car was used by him as a personal car for two years, first registered in Turin in May 1985 with the number TO 56639D. Having always remained in Italy, the car is today in excellent condition, with a mileage of 92.329 km at the time of cataloguing.
