The Federal Reserve could announce in October a reduction in the pace at which it buys Treasuries and bonds. This was stated by James Bullard, president of the St. Louis Fed in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

“A little taper is possible in October,” Bullard said, adding that last Wednesday's decision to leave the stimulus measures unchanged was borderline, surprising the market. “It is possible that we have some macroeconomic data that could change the outlook for the outlook making the committee more comfortable opting for a taper in October,” Bullard continued.
