Euro at 11-year low against the dollar

After Draghi's words on the Qe, the single currency reached 1,1004 against the dollar and also lost ground against all the other main currencies.

The fall continueseuro. After Mario Draghi press conference, which at the end of the ECB board announced the start of Qe on March 9th, the single currency reached an exchange rate of 1,1004 against the dollar, the lowest level in the last 11 years.

The shared currency has shown some volatility, also because at the same time the Central Bank has revised upwards its inflation forecasts for 2016, and for 2017 estimates a level that would be in line with the target values.

In the meantime, the euro has also lost ground against all other major currencies. Compared to the pound it updated to 0,7223, the lowest level in over seven years (December 21, 2007), after being fixed by the ECB at 0,7251 (0,7259). The single European currency was also traded at 132,36 yen, after a new low for a month and a half (132,14), and at 1,0694 Swiss francs.
