Between 2013 and 2015, Brembo will invest a total of 1 15 million euros in North America, for the expansion of the Homer industrial site in Michigan, and in Brazil, for the transfer and expansion of the current San Paolo plant. The interventions are carried out in line with the Group's development strategy which aims to strengthen production capacity in those areas where its customers require higher volumes and higher levels of service.
In United States the investment will amount to 83 million euros. The expansion of the Homer site was necessary to acquire new business and additional market shares with major North American customers such as Chrysler, General Motors and Ford. According to estimates, the operation would double the turnover of the subsidiary Brembo North America Inc., which should go from 178,5 million euros in 2012 to approximately 350 million in 2015.
In Brazil 32 million euros will be used to transfer the current plant from Sao Paolo to Santo Antonio de Posse (north of Sao Paolo), where a larger and more modern plant capable of meeting the company's growing production needs will come into operation. Also in this case, the turnover of the subsidiary Brembo do Brasil Ltda, going from €66,6 million in 2012 to approximately €130 million in 2015, will record an increase of approximately 100% over the three years.
