Banco Popolare closed 2012 with a net loss of 944,6 million euro, against the loss of 2,2 billion the previous year. The result was affected by value adjustments on goodwill and equity investments for 442,5 million euros, primarily attributable to the write-down of the equity investment in Agos-Ducato for 400 million.
Loan value adjustments totaled 1,28 billion euro (up from 759 million in 2011) and 683 million were booked in the fourth quarter. Their dynamics - explains a note - also takes into account the indications provided by Bank of Italy in this regard. The core tier 1 of the group is 10,1% and the total capital ratio is 14%.
