La industrial waste production has become strategic for hundreds of companies. There is an increasing search for technological solutions that help companies maximize the value of waste. Italian supply chains need to grow to have greater strength in competitiveness and inter-municipal solutions are the most suitable for this purpose. Transforming waste into wealth is, therefore, the challenge of today. The example of thewaste treatment plant of 120 thousand tons located in Schio in the province of Vicenza, taken over by the Hera group, goes in this positive direction.
An industrial plan and its implications on the territory
The structure thanks to good technological equipment treats numerous types of waste liquids and muddy, dangerous and non-dangerous: painting and washing water, acids and bases, water from chemical-physical treatments. We are still in one of the most organized industrial districts in Italy with activities that are often interconnected.
The purifier passes through Environment Energy of the Marzotto group to Hera Environment Energy and the two subjects signed a binding agreement with the closing within the first half of 2025. For Hera the operation is part of the industrial plan for 2028 with which the company strengthens its presence in the industrial waste management cycle. Ambiente Energia thus expands its offer of global waste in an area where it is already present with some subsidiaries. The service is oriented towards the industrial districts of Veneto, including textiles, tanning, metalworking and eyewear.
The industrial value of purifiers
In practice the cleaner after the technical processes returns reusable treated water. The purified water is discharged into surface waters. But what small and medium-sized businesses must insist on is the waste degradation process which, when it does not occur, causes incalculable damage to the environment. The waste is treated from a chemical-physical point of view, using substances that eliminate the biodegradable parts. The Schio plant has its strength in the storage tanks, in a wastewater treatment line and a sludge treatment line.
Water treatment makes everything more planet and consolidates the fundamental principles of circular economy. Downstream of these processes, excellent economies of scale are achieved. The industrial added value of the agreement – says Hera – lies in the ability to achieve greater flexibility and capacity in the construction of waste management and recovery projects proposed by the company. In the North East Ambiente Energia's existing customers will have access to the experience of Herambiente and its subsidiaries to develop other resource enhancement projects in addition to the treatment of liquid and sludge waste.
