France on top of the world and Italy in the worst position in its history. This is the verdict of the latest Fifa ranking, the first after the reform launched last June with the modification of the parameters for drawing up the ranking.
After lifting the World Cup in Russia, France flies to the lead ahead of Belgium and Brazil, gaining six positions and thus overtaking the old leaders Germany, which collapses to 15th place.
Worst placement ever instead for Italy, which, outside the World Cup, slips to 21st place. The Azzurri had never left the top 20.
