Trust, responsibility and attention to people's needs are the principles underlying the new working model of the Veronesi Group, which allows you to organize your working day with great flexibility in entering and exiting hoursIt is "V-Life Balance", the policy confirmed in July 2026, which promotes work-life balance and involves over 1.000 people at the Verona-based company, a leading Italian agri-food company for the production of feed, meat, eggs, and cured meats under the AIA, Negroni, and Veronesi brands.
Launched on a trial basis in 2025 and successfully completed, the initiative has been confirmed and will continue next year, given the effectiveness of the model demonstrated during the testing phase. In particular, an internal survey of managers highlighted a positive evaluation level of 80% and an almost unanimous will to maintain Flexible working hours, recognized as an effective tool for promoting work-life balance. The results also highlighted the effectiveness of a goal-oriented approach, capable of simultaneously maintaining a consistent level of service, effectiveness, and continuity in company operations.
In particular, the policy concerns all the Group's offices and people working in company divisions not strictly linked to production activities. It provides: freedom in organizing the working day, choosing its beginning and end In compliance with the company's organizational and operational needs, maintaining the 39-hour workweek as the standard reference. The policy was created to meet the diverse needs of individuals, combining them with those of a company operating in the fresh and ultra-fresh food sector, where timeliness and continuity are key.
“It's a real revolution in the way we work for a company that operates in a sector like ours,” he explains. Diego Piccolo, Human Resources Director of the Veronesi Group "It's the result of the process we've already begun in recent years with the adoption of smart working, which has led us to enhance our colleagues' sense of responsibility in managing their own activities and focusing on results. This is a significant shift, especially in a Group like ours, where five different generations live together and collaborate, with very different roles and professional fields, and active throughout the entire supply chain."
The new flexible working hours are part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting a better work-life balance. Among these are: smart working, introduced in 2022 and which saw over 700 people involved in 2025, with approximately 22.000 days worked remotely, and the Veroneasy Life platform, through which each member of the Group has the opportunity to convert the tax-free value of their accrued Performance Bonus (in whole or in part) into the purchase of goods and services, ranging from healthcare and education to sports and leisure activities, shopping vouchers, and gasoline.
Finally, during the months of July and August, people not involved in activities requiring business continuity have the opportunity to take advantage of Friday afternoons off, a further initiative aimed at promoting a better work-life balance. Furthermore, to support the development of all company employees and ensure opportunities for skill development, ongoing training courses are planned, both in person and online, or in a hybrid format.
