After the final approval of the economic part of the contract by the Council of Ministers on June 16th, the Court of Auditors' registration is now expected by the end of the month. These are the salary differences accrued from January 1, 2025, until the salary adjustment provided for by the contract renewal. These amounts are recognized by the State when the contract is renewed after the increases have taken effect.
2026 school arrears: who is entitled to them?
The measure is of interest over a million workers in the school sector, including teachers, ATA staff, administrative assistants, technical assistants, and school collaborators. Arrears will also be paid to substitutes, based on the months actually worked in the reference period. How much is due to teachers and ATA staff?
According to union estimates, school arrears for 2026 could average around 800 euros gross, with amounts that for some bands can exceed 1.000 eurosThe average increases foreseen by the contract renewal are equal to approximately 143 euros gross monthly for teachers and 107 euros gross for ATA staff.
The amount actual will vary Based on seniority, academic grade for teachers, and professional profile for ATA staff. The final amounts will be calculated by NoiPA and can only be verified through the pay slip.
