Qbuzz (FS) wins concession in the Netherlands worth 1,8 billion. And the logistics pole is strengthened in rail transport

Il Group Fs grows in Europe and is strengthened in rail transport. Qbuzz, the Dutch company belonging to the FS Group's Polo Passeggeri, was awarded one new concession 15 years for Local Public Transport (LPT) road services worth 1,8 billion, between revenues from passengers and public fees. In the meantime, Mercitalia Shunting & Terminal, a company of Polo Logistica (FS Italiane Group), has acquired a business branch of Auta Morocco Spa in its logistics branch in Terni, specialized in rail transport.

QBuzz wins a concession for 1,8 billion in the Netherlands

The offer envisaged by the new concession that Qbuzz has been awarded is 195 million passenger-km per year, is organized on 52 bus lines and 1041 stops, will be managed with a fleet of 275 electric buses and 790 people who will join part of the company. The services will cover the Zuid-Holland-Noord area in the Randstad region which has 8 million inhabitants and is between the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. A note from Fs explains it, adding that the Dutchman will invest over 193 million euros in the fleet renewal and in technological innovation to improve comfort and environmental sustainability.

Thanks to the award of this additional concession, Qbuzz consolidates itself as the third largest Dutch public transport operator. In fact, the company already operates Tal's services in the Utrecht, Groningen-Drenthe and DMG (Drechtsteden-Molenlanden-Gorinchem) areas.

Logistics hub (FS Group) acquires the trucking business branch

The contract with which the company has been signed Mist, which manages the shunting and integrated logistics activities for the Pole, will guarantee end-to-end transport and industrial activities supporting the core business of the Italian Railways. These activities also include the transport services of materials relating to the railway sector with volumes currently equal to approximately 20 million euros per year, which Mist carries out on behalf of the companies of the Group itself, in particular RFI e Trenitalia.

The company branch acquired consists of 37 employees including drivers, warehouse workers and transport coordinators, as well as a fleet of vehicles equipped with specific equipment and made up of 9 tractors, 7 trailers and 3 semi-trailers. Mist will also continue the collaboration relationship with Auta Morocco, whose registered office is in Trieste, mainly carries out national and international road and intermodal transport activities.

"All this in line with the strategies of the Business Plan which, in this segment, envisage increasing the share of self-production of road transport services up to 60%", declared Sabrina De Filippis, managing director of Mercitalia Logistics.
