Appointments, the Easter egg for armchairs is ready: games made for Eni, Enel, Terna and Poste, the Leonardo puzzle remains

The spring of appointments at the top of large public groups is in full swing. White smoke is expected around Easter. Here's what lies ahead for Eni, Enel, Terna, Poste Italiane and Leonardo but also for Enav, Trenitalia and Rfi

Appointments, the Easter egg for armchairs is ready: games made for Eni, Enel, Terna and Poste, the Leonardo puzzle remains

If there are no slippages, Good Friday could be the day of the white smoke of the grown-ups nominated of state. Barring sudden reversals, the next summit of the government parties in charge of drawing up the lists for the renewal of the positions at the helm of the major public groups listed on the Stock Exchange by mid-April (Eni, Enel, Terna, Poste Italiane e Leonardo) could close the game as early as Friday 7 April, while leaving the last word to the premier Giorgia Meloni and subject to filings in the Cesarini area.

To date, the games are largely done, except for Leonardo's summit, but that of major public appointments is by definition the terrain for surprises. This time, however, there shouldn't be many because Meloni seems able to curb the desire for reversals of his ravenous phalanxes and above all of his government allies with the League of Matteo Salvini ahead.

APPOINTMENTS: AFTER MPS, MONDAY 3 APRIL THE LIST FOR ENAV

After the appointments at the top of the Monte dei Paschi, who expect the well-deserved confirmation of Luig at the next meeting on 20 Aprilthe Lovaglios as CEO and the arrival of the Northern League Nicola Maione as new president after the resignation of Patrizia Grieco, the President of Assonime who in the meantime became President of Anima Holding, on Monday 3 April the Government will present the list for the renewal of the offices at the top of Enav . In the company that manages air traffic, Pasqualino is in pole position for the CEO seat. Monti, barring a flashback for the former CEO Roberta Neri.

APPOINTMENTS: ENI, ENEL AND TERNA BETWEEN CONTINUITY AND RENEWAL

The premier is oriented towards confirming Claudio with full marks Descalzi at the head of ENI, except to renew the presidency of the oil group which holds the keys to Italian foreign policy in North Africa and the Middle East. Instead, changes are in sight for the other two major energy groups. After three mandates during which he made Enel the queen of the stock exchange with a capitalization of over 55 billion euros and the world leader in the production of renewable energy, Francesco Starace he is destined to leave the leadership of the electric group to Stefano Donnarumma. Manager today at the head of Terna as a result of the appointment of the Conte 2 government, Donnarumma is greatly appreciated by Meloni despite the interested branch of the Lega and Forza Italia, who have not yet completely lost hope of bringing the former CEO of Terna and Telecom Italia and CEO of Rai, Flavio Cattaneo, now vice president of Italo.

Finally Terna, for whose leadership the premier is oriented towards a female appointment with Giuseppina of Foggia, CEO and VP of Nokia Italia in pole position, although Roberta's hypothesis cannot yet be considered completely archived blacks, initially popular also for ENAV which he managed brilliantly years ago.

APPOINTMENTS: CONFIRMATIONS IN SIGHT FOR POSTE ITALIANE AND THREE HYPOTHESIS FOR LEONARDO

Appointments under the banner of continuity, given the good financial results and the effective market repositioning underway, for the Italian Post Office, where Matthew Del Fante CEO and Giuseppe Lasco, very close to the premier, should be confirmed as co-director of the Group.

Leonardo's game is more complex and for now unresolved, in which the prime minister will certainly take into account the guidelines of the Quirinale, considering the fact that the President Mattarella he is the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces, and of the attention of the allies NATO for the leadership of the most important Italian defense industry group. The confirmation of Alessandro Profumo at the top cannot yet be completely excluded, but the start of the appeal process for the financial statements of Monte dei Paschi, of which he was unpaid president in past years, curiously precisely in the days of the appointments and after over two and a half years after the first instance sentence, he offers weapons to those who, especially on the right, see him as the icon of strong powers and would like to dethrone him.

According to Leonardo, the currently most popular hypotheses are therefore three:

1) the appointment as CEO of the former Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto crawlers, whom Meloni highly esteems and who could make use of Profumo's experience as president;

2) the promotion of an internal manager like Lorenzo Mariani, current CEO of the subsidiary Mbda which however would open the immediate problem of his replacement at the helm of the Group's important missile company, or like Leonardo Cutillo, the manager who relaunched Leonardo's helicopters, or finally as Valerio Cioffi, the General Manager of the Group;

3) the appointment of a foreign pope to the post of CEO, on which Lega and Forza Italia are aiming, who would like Flavio Cattaneo as Leonardo's new number one if it were not possible to ferry him to the top of Enel.

This, on the eve of Palm Sunday, is the state of the art of appointments to the top management of large public groups but we must not forget that the great political division does not only concern the choice of CEOs but also enflames the Presidencies and the composition of the Boards and feeds the hunger for jobs of all the political forces of the centre-right government.

FS APPOINTMENTS: NEWS COMING ALSO FOR TRENITALIA AND ABOVE ALL RFI

The two main subsidiaries of the delle Group are also very attractive state Railways: Trenitalia and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Rfi) whose top management expires in the next few weeks. Two appointments, on which the voracious eye of the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini extends and on which the CEO of Fs, Luigi Ferraris it will not fail to pursue its renewal strategy. There will be no shortage of news especially for Rfi, where the mission of CEO Vera Fiorani appears destined to decline. More uncertain is the future of the current CEO of Trenitalia, Luigi Corradi. The curtain will rise in the coming days.
