Intesa Sanpaolo has achieved the commitments of the 2018-2021 Business Plan for people in difficulty, an objective which was achieved for 2018 and which will be confirmed for 2019. 3,6 million meals, 72 beds, 36 medicines and 36 clothes through the support of the group to charitable organizations and associations.
“To combat poverty in its most dramatic phenomenon, hunger – specifies a statement from Intesa – the Group has entered into agreements with the Food Bank, Caritas, City Angels, Vidas, for the strengthening of their charitable and assistance activities. The Presidency's Charity Fund, traditionally dedicated to philanthropy, also contributed to the achievement of the goal, ensuring over 1 million meals, around 30% of the set goal, through support to various entities including Caritas, the Community of Sant' Egidio, the Vincentian Volunteer groups, Cottolengo, the Opera di San Francesco”.
The Intesa Sanpaolo non-profit foundation has also moved into the field, contributing to the achievement of the result and allocating, as required by its statute, the disbursements "as well as to employees in difficulty and for the right to study, to support social canteens and dormitories" .

Many Bank offices are engaged in this effort which directly affects many people and families, in what has become a real pact for growth, between the Bank and civil society”, commented Carlo Messina, CEO and managing director.

Furthermore, last 11 December, 50 employees worked as volunteers at the Franciscan canteens of the Antoniano onlus throughout Italy, adding to the bank's disbursement activity also an active personal commitment of those who work there.
