“A boy was born, he weighs 2,95 kilos and his mother is doing very well: she collected 240 million euros”. Thus, with a joke, the president of Rai Way Camillo Rossotto commented on the "birth" in Piazza Affari of the company of the Rai towers. A more than positive landing: just over an hour after its debut, the Rai Way share recorded an increase of more than 4% to 3,084 euros per share.
The price of the IPO had been set at 2,95 euros, in the low end of the range initially indicated, between 2,95-3,5 euros. The offer, which closed on November 13, had been a success, with demand equal to 2,1 times the amount of shares (over 173 million) offered.
Despite the difficulties of the market, and the many IPOs announced and then withdrawn in recent months, the top management of Rai Way held firm, as underlined again by Rossotto: "When we decided to list, we were fully aware that there was sea force 7, but we trimmed the sails and went out to sea convinced that we would come back victorious”.
