Ansaldo Sts it should merge with another European company, preferably the Spanish Caf. This is the opinion of some analysts (in particular Equita and Intermonte) on the future of the Finmeccanica subsidiary, who released the latest balance sheet data yesterday.
During yesterday's Star Conference Sergio De Luca, CEO of Ansaldo STS, stated that the company must become a global player in the next few years or it will disappear. According to De Luca, there are two ways to achieve this goal: a partnership with a train manufacturer through the exchange of shares, or the sale to another operator in the sector. The first option for De Luca appears more difficult to pursue as Ansaldo STS is not a good partner at the moment.
At the beginning of the afternoon, the shares of Ansaldo Sts gained more than four points on the stock market.
