Winter train timetables: FS presents the Winter Experience 2023-2024. Here are the new links and promotions

Sustainability, intermodality and innovation are the basis of the new Ferrovie dello Stato offer for the winter season. Trains are increasing and new connections are being introduced to high-altitude locations. From 15 December the Rome-Cortina returns, the first trip of the new Group company. FS presented his offers for the winter season. Frecciarossa trips are increasing

There are 270 Frecciarossa trains daily which guarantee around 130.000 posts and more than 120 destinations. Between Milan and Rome, will be introduced from December 22nd two new non-stop connections with a record travel time of 2 hours and 50 minutes, bringing the total number of daily connections between the two cities to 100, with over 50.000 seats available and an average frequency of a train every 15 minutes during peak hours.

The frequency of travel is also increasing between Milan and Naples with 2 new daily connections which will bring the total number of trains between the two cities to 70. Increasingly intermodal travel

This year, 5 million passengers have chosen the combined intermodal transport by train, of which 1,6 million only for the Fiumicino Airport-Rome route. In Toscana, new intermodal connections (train+bus) will be introduced connecting the Poggibonsi-San Gimignano station with San Gimignano Centro. In Sicilia, from 11 December, 4 new direct connections will be operational between Palermo Airport and Agrigento, with confirmation of the intermodal train+bus connection to reach the Valley of the Temples.

Confirmed i active links in Veneto, such as Garda Link which connects the Verona Porta Nuova railway station to locations on Lake Garda, and Caorle Link to reach the sea even in winter, have been confirmed.

Passengers arriving in Italy with Emirates they will have the opportunity to benefit from integrated trips train+plane athrough a single ticket and a unique PNR code. The agreement includes all flights departing or arriving from Venice, Milan, Bologna and Rome, offering integrated travel solutions with Frecce to 27 railway stations.

  • Me&You: Savings of up to 50% for trips as a couple.
  • Free Children: Offer for families with children under 15 traveling for free and adults with a 40% discount.
  • Free travel for dogs on Intercity trains until 8 January.

For the travel with Eurocity:

  • Promo 2×1 Markets: Offer for Italy-Switzerland travel, in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Railways, on sale until 10 December for travel until 20 December.

FS Passenger Hub: the results for 2023

In January-October period, the companies of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group recorded over half a billion passengers, marking a 20% increase compared to 2022, with 100 million trips taken during the summer alone. With the Winter Experience we further consolidate our efforts and, in the coming months, we will offer our travelers new connections for a more complete and flexible experience" declared the CEO of Trenitalia, Louis Corradi.
