On the occasion of the long weekend of 2 June, the possibility of travel on historic trains of FS Foundation. Here is a list of appointments for the weekend in different regions of Italy.
Friday June 2th
- Veneto: On the occasion of the Republic Day, it will be possible to enjoy a unique experience aboard a historic steam train which will leave from the Carpanè Valstagna station, in the municipality of Valbrenta (VI), and arrive in Caldonazzo crossing the suggestive Valsugana, surrounded by wonderful apple orchards in bloom. Departure is scheduled for 8.05.
Saturday June 3th
- Piemonte: the historic train will leave from Turin Porta Nuova station and will reach Canelli, famous for its Italian sparkling wine. During the journey through time, passengers will be able to taste the typical amaretti and Asti Spumante. Departure is scheduled for 9.00.
- Abruzzo: the appointment is at the Sulmona station, from which a historic train will leave for Castel di Sangro along the suggestive Ferrovia dei Parchi, also known as the Trans-Siberian railway of Italy. Once at their destination, travelers will be able to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and fauna of one of the most characteristic mountain areas in Italy. I am two trips are planned, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June, starting at 9.00.
Sunday June 4th
- Friuli-Venezia Giulia: the train of the UNESCO cities is scheduled along the Trieste Centrale – Palmanova – Udine and Cividale del Friuli itinerary. A journey to discover the UNESCO World Heritage fortress-cities, promoted by the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Departure scheduled for 8.20.
- Lombardia: you can travel with a steam train from Milano Centrale station to Lecco crossing the green Brianza. At their destination, passengers will be able to use a historic steamer to visit the tourist spots bordering the lake. The initiative is promoted by the Transport and Sustainable Mobility Department of the Lombardy Region in collaboration with Ferrovie Nord Milano. Departure is scheduled for 7.50.
- Campania: I'm two itineraries in the area. The first, with Irpinia Express, you will travel on a tourist train from Avellino to Conza-Andretta-Cairano along the Avellino-Rocchetta line to discover the characteristic villages of Irpinia (departure scheduled at 8.30). Alternatively, you can take theArcheotreno Express, which connects Naples to Pompeii, allowing travelers to visit the Archaeological Park (departure scheduled at 9.55 am).
