Tav, Government denies green light to tenders for base tunnels

Green light to the notices on the Tav from Palazzo Chigi, indeed not. Or at least not right away. The news, which would have unblocked the impasse on the large infrastructure that has been dividing Lega (more in favor) and Cinque Stelle (against) for months, was anticipated by the Il Sole 24 Ore website, but Palazzo Chigi denied it, speaking of "postponement of notices". According to Il Sole, the letter received from Telt, the Italian-French company in charge of building the Turin-Lyon and which has already been working for years, digging tunnels both - above all - on the French and Italian sides, would have authorized the approval of notices for the construction of the base tunnel of the Tav. The Government would have found a trick for the green light: a clause, called dissolution, which would then have allowed them to be blocked in the future.

The contents of the document are still confidential, according to a spokesman for the company, whose board of directors is called to meet on Monday to give the green light to the 2,3 billion euro tenders for the excavation works of the base tunnel. But in the meantime the executive has reduced the opening: “We are moving towards the postponement of the tenders. They won't leave on Monday. What was reported by Il Sole 24 ore is not correct”. "No crisis, I plan to go on for 5 years, it is a matter in which we have different ideas, the contract includes the revision of the work", commented Interior Minister Matteo Salvini instead in Milan, who arrived at the Hotel Savoia to celebrate his birthday.
